Birthday Shopping

At the beginning of September it was my birthday. I had a lovely day where we went out for pancakes (a dutch speciality) topped with bacon and apple, then we headed off to Haarlem in search of this shop. My parents had sent me some money in my card, so where better to spend it than a shop that sells Cath Kidston and Greengate. Bliss!

I picked up a set of 2 tea towels and these gorgeous spoons made from pottery.

A set of tins. My husband asked what I was going to use them for, I quickly answered ”for cakes”, which satisfied him enough to stop me feeling guilty for being frivolous!

DSC01108I then popped in to Dille & Kamille on the way back to the car and bought a jam funnel, 2 rolls of red and white string and a couple of little baskets. Perfect

Oh and we even managed to get a babysitter so we could go out for a nice meal, shame the babysitter has now gone off to University in the UK……

  1. I can’t tell you how happy this post has made me!! We’re moving to NL in March and I’m so glad that I’ll still be able to get my CK fix!!

I love pancakes – it took a while to get my head around the idea of savoury ones, but bacon cheese and mushroom are definitely my favourite – without the stroop though!

  2. Cath K and Greengate! I agree with you, that’s a heavenly combination! I know that question your husband asked, “what are they for?” It’s a question most husbands have in their minds on shopping trips, don’t you think?!!!
    Love Vanessa xxx

  3. I LOVE Cath Kidston…don’t think you need any excuse to purchase a little Cath Kidston!!…..wish she had a shop here in Australia…..the currency conversion is unbelievable!! But I still manage to buy a few things from her each year!!
I find her Oilcloth the BEST to sew. I make bags, change mats, lunch bags etc from Oilcloth….LOVE HER LOVE HER LOVE HER!!
